Those claiming that the PPI crisis has been over exaggerated have been proved wrong by the second quarter data released by the Financial Ombudsman Service. Between April to June 2012, the financial mediator received 32,000 complaints relating to mis-selling of PPI. 56% of all new complaints received by the FOS was related to mis-sold PPI policies.
